Gravitation
1. Objects having density less than that of the liquid in which they are immersed, float on the surface of the liquid. If the density of the object is more than the density of the liquid in which it is immersed then it sinks in the liquid.
2. According to Archimedes’ principle, when a body is partially or fully immersed in a fluid, it experiences an up thrust which is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by the body.
Top Formulae:
1. Newton’s Law of gravitation
2. Acceleration due to gravity
3. Equations of motion under free fall
i. v = u + gt
ii. s = u t + (½)at2
iii. iii. v2 = u2 + 2 g s
4. Weight of an object W = m g
5. Pressure = thrust / area
6. Density = mass / volume
7. Relative density = density of a substance / density of water
